Don’t want to fork out the $200+ for an FTOPS event? Didn’t qualify for FTOPS 12 in a satellite? If that’s the case, then check out the Mini FTOPS 12 at Full Tilt Poker.
In this tournament series, the events are the same as they are for the regular FTOPS 12 events, but at 10% of the buy-in cost. Every event has a buy-in between $10+1 up to $50+5, with the exception of the 2 day NL Holdem event that starts on Saturday, May 16th. This is event #22 and has a guaranteed prize pool of $200,000, and a buy-in of $250+16. Every event has a guaranteed prize pool ranging from $10,000 – $300,000, plus the Main Event which has a prize pool of $500,000 with only a $50+5 buy-in.
The Mini FTOPS 12 tournament series starts on May 6th, the same day as the regular Full Tilt FTOPS 12 events. Satellite tournaments for the Mini FTOPS events are running now, and start at just $.50, or 50 Full Tilt Points. Mini FTOPS events start exactly 5 minutes after the regular FTOPS event.
Anyone who reaches a Mini FTOPS final table will win a limited edition Mini FTOPS jacket, just in time for summer….uhh yeah. Hey Full Tilt, have you guys heard of an iPod? Anyhow, winners of each Mini FTOPS event win the jacket, plus a silver Mini FTOPS jersey (okay, this is pretty cool).
Here’s the best part though. The player who finishes #1 on the Mini FTOPS leaderboard will win an entry to all but one of the Full Tilt FTOPS 13 events – a package worth $7500. So, play in as many tournaments as you can, and if you get off to a good start, be sure to keep playing in them for a shot at this prize.
Looking at the Mini FTOPS schedule, certain tournaments stand out as giving players a great chance to turn small buy-ins into big money. Some of our favorites are:
- Event #1 – Wednesday, May 6th at 21:05 ET. The buy-in for this event is only $20+2, but it has a guaranteed prize pool of $200,000. This is a 6 handed, NL Holdem event and satellites for event #1 start at $.90
- Event #10 – Sunday, May 10th at 18:05 ET. This event has direct buy-in of $30+3, and a guaranteed prize pool of $300,000. Satellites for this event start at just $.60.
- Event #24 – Sunday, May 17th at 14:05 ET. This is a NL Holdem Knockout tournament with a buy-in of just $12+1, and a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000.
- Event #25 (Main Event) – Sunday, May 17th at 18:05 ET. This is the big one, with a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000 and a direct buy-in of $50+5.
There are also Omaha, Stud and mixed game tournaments, but the prize pools are obviously smaller than the tournaments listed above.
